What this effect does
Gacha polish combines impact overlays (slashes, bursts, circles), luminous glow, particles, and color grading into a cohesive rarity presentation. The goal is hierarchy: character first, FX second, background support third.
When to use it
- SSR / UR character reveal art
- JRPG key visual and menu hero images
- Event banner and login reward artwork
- Donghua and gacha crossover promos
- Indie gacha or card battler marketing assets
Step-by-step workflow
- 01
Generate a hero pose with strong silhouette
Splash art lives or dies on silhouette readability. Full-body or dramatic three-quarter, clear separation from background.
- 02
Start with a light leak or vignette base polish
Establish color mood before heavy FX — warm gold for premium, cool purple for mystic, red for aggressive.
- 03
Add primary impact FX (slash, burst, or magic circle)
One hero effect behind or beside the character — not competing with the face.
- 04
Layer particles and aura at medium Intensity
Embers, sparkles, or dust at 40–55% add premium feel without clutter.
- 05
Use Intense Light on glow layers only
Reserve maximum glow for rim and weapon FX. Keep skin and costume areas cleaner.
- 06
Export and test in banner crop
Crop to gacha banner aspect ratio — adjust FX if important elements get clipped.
Best Studio settings
- Light Leak · Intense Light · 45%

Common mistakes
- Too many competing FX layers — looks busy, not premium
- Effect covers the character's face or gacha name safe zone
- Mismatched rarity color (common scene + legendary FX)
- Ignoring banner crop — FX placed where UI will cover it
- Flat base image — no amount of glow fixes weak generation
Export tips
- Export PNG at 2× for retina store assets
- Keep safe margins for title text and rarity badge overlays
- Save to Assets with Enhanced tag for campaign reuse
